About the SL-B202, with speed control problems everybody will tell you to clean the 3 speed control potentiometers (pots). Deoxit is the preferred spray cleaner. The B202 has three speed pots, 1 on the front panel and 2 on a circuit board inside. There is a free (after registering) downloadable service manual at Vinyl Engine's Library that covers readjustment of speed control pots after cleaning. After unplugging and removing the bottom cover, spray Deoxit into every possible way inside the front panel pot and turn all the way both ways several times. Turn the circuit board pots with a small screwdriver as you spray them. Follow the service manual instructions to readjust the speed pots. If this doesn't work after a few tries there might be circuit board parts in need of replacement.
