  • Hi Tank,

I have finally gotten an octal CCDA kit, and found the manual confusing on the same points as you did. I figured most of it (tube pinout wrong in manual, incorrect C2 label on PCB, mismatching lables for C7 (=C18 on the bag?) and C8 (=C7 on the bag?). In the part values section it lists for Jumper 5 (resistor bypass?): R2=270, Gain=10. For Jumper 4 (Positive feedback, No bypass?) it lists R2=130, Gain=13. But my understanding is that bypassing the cathode resistor increases the gain, are the sections swapped?

I realize its been a while since you built yours, but I am hoping you might be able to shed some light on this, or at least help me figure out what value R2 should have when not bypassing the resistor, 270 or 130? So much conflicting information I'm not sure which are erroneous and which aren't :S

Thanks for your time and best wishes,

    Alexander
