Tube newbie here. I would like to experiment with tube rolling, on my 1962 Electrohome Montego SET receiver.

It uses the following (original 55-year-old tubes, I assume):
2 X 6BQ5 (EL84) (Brimar "Made in England" - maybe not original?)
2 X 7025A/12AX7 (unsure which brand - enclosed in metal foil)
1 X 6BL8/ECF80 (Rogers)
1 X 6C4/12AU7 (?)

There is a local TV repair shop still in business, amazingly and they have the following tubes available.
- 12AU7A EH: $14.95
(ELECTRO HARMONIX - RUSSIA)

- EL84 (6BQ5) EH
: $16.30
(ELECTRO HARMONIX - RUSSIA)
- 6BQ5 USA: (Call for prices)
- 6BL8/ECF80: $5.80

- 6C4/EC90: $5.10

Any feedback, predictions and opinions on these tubes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The only tubes in the signal chain are probably the 12AX7's and the 6BQ5's. The others are probably in the addon multiplexer.

If the tubes tests good, the Brimar are IMHO very good outputs. As for the 12AX7's, unless there are already Russian tubes in your Montego, the EH's aren't worth trying...
