Probably not what the OP originally had in mind, but I thought you might enjoy it anyways.

This is a sight tube/flow tube off a steam turbine driven fuel oil pump for a 40s vintage Navy ship. There is an angled opening in the bottom of the base and another on the backside of the top flange. Whatever passed through it would spin the paddle wheel behind the sight glass so you'd know it was flowing like it was supposed to. The unit is right at 12" tall.
