I’ve been on pins and needles all week.

Contacted seller on Monday..... but they couldn’t show it to me until Friday...

So will be taking a look in about 1 hour.

It’s an Ampex Stereo Console. 1960?

But haven’t seen pictures of the back of unit so don’t know which of the 4 or so Amp configurations this one has.

Hope it’s the dual mono block EL34 amps!!!!!!

It’s got the separate preamp and tuner. ( made by Fisher I believe)

That's a monster console for sure. What you going to do with it? What speakers was it loaded up with?

One disadvantage of amps from a console is you don't have multiple output taps (for various impedances).


Just out of curiosity, how many people did it take to lift into the truck?

Hey guys. 2 to get it in the van. Plus used a dolly. But getting it into my house? Haven’t figured that out yet. Will have to move some things around to make room.

I think it is agreed that these have JBL speakers in em. I’ll have to open it up to take a look.

Don’t know that yet....and can’t talk about it on Dollars and Sense.

I've found a furniture dolly to be invaluable for moving heavy things like this, although I'm not sure if you'd want to move this vertically. However you do it, good luck.

That RtR should be chock full of yummy yummy Amperex 12AX7's. I could be wrong but I think that is a variation of the Crescendo model console.

As for the Speakers they might be Ampex licensed JBL's.

Good call on the Van I don't think that back of your car would of appreciated it.

I’ve looked over several threads about this piece....seems a good amount of information.

I didn’t know Ampex was located in Sunnyvale California. I guess the beginnings of Silicon Valley?
