2017 Sansui Serial Number Database

CD-5, 519190436, internet

***Note - this unit is listed in the data base as a CD Player, it is actually a multi channel divider (full description is a Solid State Stereophonic Multi Channel Divider)

A couple of other corrections

AUD707X, one shown as 1985 build year, the rest are 1994

AU-3900, one shown as 1985 build year, these were mid 70's

400, two shown as 1977 build year, the rest are 1967/1968 build year.

Thanks. Please keep pointing out these inconsistencies. Many of these errors date to the early days of the database when there was not a lot of information on the internet. Paul made his best guess. Others are just my clumsiness.

The CD-5 is interesting. It's listed in the database as a CD player with a decade reference of 1968. Obviously can't be correct. I'll change it to a electronic crossover rather than a CD player. We also have a CD-10 crossover but the C11 is a CD player.

The AU-D707X is my error. I've changed them to show 1984/85 build.
The AU-3900 and the 400 had the decade reference set too close.

These corrections will show up in the April report. We now have 813 Sansui models cataloged.

Got 'um, thanks. Do you know if the driver board on the 9090DB has a round transistor or black diode mounted on the heat sinks or is chassis silver or yellow? We are trying to track these details by serial number.

Sorry the pictures for both receivers were done at the same time. Here is the correct picture for the board on the 9090DB

That's the one. It has bias transistors and it has the silver zinc plating on the chassis. Thanks.

I have the other serial numbers too. Thanks guys.

If it helps Pete, you have my two 9090DBs in the database; The earlier one (they're about a year apart) has a galvanised chassis and the later one has the "gold coloured" chassis. You may also have the 8080DB I sold a while back; it also had the galvanised chassis

FYI

I tagged a note to each of the 9090DBs but I'm not showing an 8080DB with your user name tagged to it. Do you know the serial number for that one?

Thanks guys, I have the other serial numbers.
