Vintage DIN plug wiring

Dumb question but.....

An older fella has given me some old Meridian gear to test before he sells it, including the 105 monoblock power amps, and matching tuner (the 104) and preamps (the 101).

DIN plugs are generally even before MY time.

So I have been using a DIN to RCA lead to get a signal into the power amps, and to get a signal out of the tuner. Can I use this same lead to run a signal into inputs on the preamplifier to test it?

Ie: there arent different wiring methods for different plugs for different types of amplifier, ie: input vs output?

With 5 pin DIN, you usually have the middle pin as ground, and 2 pins on one side are inputs L and R, and the 2 pins to the other side are the output, L R.
