Any guesses?

Looks like, perhaps, a Cerwin-Vega, but could be other things (maybe many others).

These have "partial" grille covering like that, but I don't have a photo of them with grilles, and they're buried too deep in the basement to disinter right now. Perhaps you can see the grille pegs in the photo below and imagine the loudspeaker with a grille.

EDIT: come to think of it, some of the HH Scott loudspeakers of the 1970s had cosmetics similar to that, too.
 
CV HEDs - don't waste anytime worry about missing them. Their lower end range with poorly made enclosures, and the vinyl ones got all sticky and repulsive. Loud (but that goes without saying for CV) but not subtle.
 
I had CV's years ago that looked just like that. They could rattle windows without effort.
