It's three 2x8 sheets. I can get two sides per sheet, with enough scrap to get a top with the grain going the right way, and then two fronts on the other sheet.

Getting the edges right takes practice. I find it easiest to cut the veneer with an Xacto blade and then sand the edge to a "soft bevel" or pencil edge.
