Weekly Estate and Garage sale finds (pics)

I looked. Out of my league! LOL These are great speakers for jazz, but I'm a classic rock/old country guy and they are a little lacking for my musical interests. I need my Cornies!

They are excellent for jazz but I like mine for rock and such. The 804s at least are very amp dependent and sound thin and shouty if they aren't paired up well.
With the shape those appear to be you shouldn't have a problem moving them for good money.

I was listening to them in my garage the day I bought them, and they really impressed me, but after hearing them next to the Cornwalls, the low end just cant compare. They actually sounded better through my Sansui Six than my 1980.
I am sure they will sell very easily. They are in about 9.9/10 condition. I know they are heavy too. I had a hard time carrying them from the church to my truck.

Today i found this sweet looking Sony TA-1144 integrated amp. from the early 70s and 30 wpc. seems pretty solid. all the knobs are heavy steel and the switches move with a tactile satisfying thunk. i also like the unique layout. some claim it has a build similar to a Marantz 1060 but i wouldn't know. off to the testing and research cave!

edit. i do not hate how this unit sounds. buttery smooth and warm. a bit tube like.

Braved the minor rain for a shot at this tuner. There had to be speakers but they were not pictured in the listing. I still don’t know what the speakers are but they sound great and are in excellent condition. Walnut cabinets and good looking cloth.

The receiver/tuner was a bit dirty but a quick cleaning/deoxit bath and it looks like new

I grabbed these B&W 805 Matrix at a church sale on Friday for $10!!

Those are the more rare “horizontal “ version of the 805s. The more common “vertical” version has the tweeter on the top, instead of the side. B&W made a similar center channel speaker for home theater, called the 805 Matrix HTM.

Either way, you received a killer deal. Add a good sub and reconsider getting rid of them.

Got a car full of ADS L470s (8) at an estate sale for $30 each. All work except one woofer. The cabinet is damaged, so I’m assuming there was a fall involved. A couple of the cabinets have the vinyl wrap peeling on the bottom. Anyone know what can be done to fix this? I can post more pics if needed. 75C59A4B-9549-4779-84D4-21A8DDDEB98B.jpeg

pair of cerwin vega a-123s dtd jan & apr '79 (cover removed for photo) - $5
bench tested them and found crossovers and mid/high in good shape. walnut veneer could use some tlc and drivers need new surrounds.
speakers on either side were last week's find - kenwood kl-777x in good condition (quite dusty and one grill needs a spot of glue) - $2.
