Just imagine how gorillas feel about it, and don't start with the duck tape. Ducks hate the stuff, it pulls out feathers.

Backer rod and gorilla glue? If the glue was more flexible, maybe I could see that working. Shoe goop, maybe. Ah crap, now I'm pondering bad repairs :0

I can happily say that after some love and care, and some L-pads to balance out the crappy design, these things sing just as good as my HPM 100's.....
Same cab, 3/4 inch and 1 inch front baffle, just stamped steel drivers but same coil sizes.... I added the L-pads on back, one for high and one for mids.
