Hi Everyone,
OK, I hope I'm not opening the proverbial "can of worms" but I wanted to ask the collective wisdom of the group a question. Been contemplating purchasing a DAC but I'm working with a limited budget. I've found a nicely used McIntosh D100 but it's over $1K. And, I've heard some good things about the DACs from Schlit Audio. So, my question is if you had to choose which DAC would you recommend - a used McIntosh D100 or a new Schlit Audio Gungnir? They both have their pluses and minuses but the Schlit is new and is less expensive. I don't need a digital preamp, just want a good DAC. I have not had the opportunity to listen to either unit yet but will do my best to hear them in person if possible.
Thank you in advance for your help and I look forward to reading your responses.
