This is an amazing album from Robert Berry with musical contributions from Keith Emerson .

Blues Traveler...I "discovered" them this year. I never picked up on them when they came up back in the what...early 90's?

Ry Cooder...I know he's been around for a long time and I did already have "Buena Vista Social Club" and "Mambo Sinuendo". But I started checking out his "solo" (more or less) albums this year and it's been a very rewarding undertaking, so far.

Late this year, as in the least week or so I have, thanks to a recent thread started by @Delmarva, been discovering and, in some instances, rediscovering, a bunch of great bands and numbers associated with the so-called New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (i.e., NWOBHM), much of which I like A LOT more than I'd recalled the first time 'round, i.e., WAY BACK THERE in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Listening to the material that's being posted @ the NWOBHM thread has (re)kindled my energy and interest re: the pursuit of additional ROIO material for my "live" collection, which might be very deep in "things Motörhead and Judas Priest", but it's a bit light on Saxon and very light on several of the other great-sounding bands that are being name-checked, recorded material posted, etc., @ the thread. A deficit @ my collection I aim to correct during the next year, if not weeks.

A lot of good stuff from our indie music forum here, kexp and Sirius were sources for discovering more of the same.

Been streaming lots of "new to me" music this year .. so it's easier to say what I discovered this month. Watched Front & Center on MTV live .. seen the band Train .. never heard a full album of theirs before. I have heard this song before which was part of the Front & Center episode.

Currently streaming their early recordings on Tidal. Thus far I like their "albums" & not just their hit songs.

I'd have to say The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio. I posted this cut before, but I like it so you'll have to put up with it again. :p

Runner-up would be Wulf Zendik. So far out there, when I put him on it was like getting hit in the head with a rock.

Thanks for the tip about The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio. I've ordered Live at KEXP. OTOH, Wulf Zendik must be an acquired taste that I have not acquired.

OK Zebra. From first listen these got a good rating, the highest in my quick rating system.

All artists are listed with the only word in a name that is not first is The. The rest of the names are alphabetic except that The Waterboys & Mike Scott that showed up first.
Ignore the formatting. Ignore the spacing on a line, these were pulled from a word doc and the tabs don't play well. The date at the end of the line is the release date.
Ignore most of the * at the start of the title of the album this is an indication that the CD is in a jewel case. The rest are in a hanging file/foot locker that holds about 350 CDs in the space of 100.

Yes, I have heard a number of these before but you wanted the list and I didn't want to go through it and edit it, too much work for a quick post. I've been messing with these lists, the original doc is 19 pages for a number of months. Time to get away and just listen. Enjoyed Infected Mushroom the other night but the last song didn't play well. Cleaned the cd, it wasn't dirty, and it played fine the computer today.

You're welcome. I like some doses of way out there stuff and Zendik fits that bill. :D
