I like this advice as I take melatonin. I also read not to drink alcohol 2 hours before going to sleep. This advice will work well with drinking a Bacardi Rum & Coke, along with the Melatonin while adhering to the 2 hour cut off before going to sleep LOL. Sounds like a plan that will work for me any way.The thing I've learned about melatonin is, take it about 2 hours before you want to fall asleep. It seems to take that long, at least for me, to kick in. And only take it if you can put in a good 8 hours of sleep. Otherwise you'll wake up very groggy.
Let me know what you think. I ran a PAS 3X with an ST-70 a while back. I thought the phono stage was noisy, even with new boards. The pre is intimate, something I seem to recall tubes being. They seem to make the sound very personal, and the presentation more lifelike, if that’s a thing. Maybe it’s the roundness I like. Mind you, it’s not inaccurate, just slightly different.
First impressions.
Not always the case in my experience. Japanese tube amps tend to be on the bright side. The oil caps most of them used are ugly and output transformers aren't that great. Just from my personal experience. YMMVIt probably is sounding smoother? Tubes usually sound smoother than solid state stuff.
