Gun Porn

Couple of things about that PMR-30.... I remember a review done a few years back, by Hickock .45....granted, he is a better shot than most pistoleros, but he didn`t seem to have much trouble hitting just about everything he aimed at.
Also, IIRC, that thing only takes the .22 MAGNUM round, which ain`t exactly cheap, especially when you`re dumping out 30 rounds at a time....

Yeah, you can't shoot anything but .22 mag out of the pmr 30. The problem is any .22 mag ammo my friend tried was tumbling, producing keyhole shaped holes in the target, even at close range. This was not uncommon at the time, many people had that problem. I dunno if they fixed it, but I wouldn't buy one until I could verify it didn't do that.

A friend found this Marlin-Glenfield, youth model, .22 in a 5 gallon bucket of broken shit at a pawn shop. I've installed a new site elevator and addressed most of the abuse. This was my go-to for varmint head shots on 10 acres.

I have a Marlin 57 Lever action .22 that I got for Christmas when I was 12. Love that gun!!
Gun porn pictures or it isn't real.

It seems that the metallurgy and rifling was good on these old Marlins. I've been lusting after a longer barrel model after witnessing what this one can do.

Nice, I have one with the squirrel stock my dad bought before I was born. It's stupid accurate with the iron sights. I cornholed a squirrel that was tearing up my house with it. I actually felt sorry for that lil sob, but he wouldn't turn around for a headshot.

I take it you're talking about the pmr 30? My friend had one, totally inaccurate, and keyholed most of the time. He got rid of it. I dunno if they're any better now.

Yes the .22 mag. Sorry been busy didn't see your post. Frankly I don't know much about the " 30" other then what I read. I'm just in the market for a .22 mag. As a young man, I use to take my grandmothers actually my great grandmothers .22 mag out, hunting.

I was a terror as a young man, no regard for anybody or anything. The things I killed with the .22 mag were simply unreal. One would be foolish to underestimate the .22 mag.

As a result of my wild child youth, and all the things I killed, that didn't need killing, I no longer hunt or kill anything. It's my penitence, for my youth.

I've also been to a couple shootings were the murder weapon was a .22 mag. The folks shot were DRT. Impressive abilities, in a small round.

I still fly fish, but haven't hunted in 30 plus years.

To date I can't find one in the gun stores locally. Other wise I'd own one.

Thank, you, for the heads up. Key holing isn't really a bad thing! Lol.

The Model 39 is back-up for that Halo, right ? :)

Aaaaahhhjjj the model 39. I no longer have any,,,,, Sold the two I had, years ago to fund other purchases. Also had the model 59s, back in the 90s. Back then I decided it was 1911s, and Browning Hi Powers for me. A choice I've never regretted.

While I'm here for stereo gear info, I love the fact that we can talk guns, aswell.

Pro-Tech, interesting. Was thinking Micro Tech. I've got a Benchmade Infidel. I'm not happy with it at all. I find it to be a gimmick OTF, rather then a serious knife.

Certainly not a knife I'd carry for defensive situations.

Very nice, I'm going to look into those. I've carried Emersoms for at least twenty years. Looking to find an even better knife.

Thanks again.

Now that`s a masterpiece to leave you weak in the knees....beautiful !

That .22 Browning is incredible. I've owned a couple in the past. In my humble opinion their the best .22 semi auto ever. I got a wild hair sold mine and bought three military .22 bolt action trainers. Their all three full sized .22s.

Still have those .22s. Saving them for my grandsons.

The 54R, is also very nice. Great round.

Thanks. I would surely love to shoot it, but that would be dumb. I lack the collector gene, I wanna play with my toys. After 15 plus years her cherry will remain unpopped.

I’ve not shot one. My favorite .22 I have owned is a Model 61 Winchester Mag. Wonderful pump action tubular magazine and very accurate. Mine had a 4X Weaver. I have the penny I put a hole in with it when I was 11 in ‘68. My first time shooting with my dad. I gave it to my brother.
