Severe laptop damage ?

Windows Defender should be good enough if you keep the definitions updated.

Win Defender, or MS Essentials(depending on Win. OS, has been keeping my machines clean running, with never any issues for some time now, and it updates in the background and no pestering popup`s to upgrade to any of the "paid version" of the freebee antivirus one`s, that I used to use..

Infrequently used Win ? machines here, when turned on, usually start OS/Anti-virus updating in the background..
If not ,I force them to, before I even think about to start wandering outside of MS`s background updating page.

But that`s my method..

So, to each, their own, method with any attendant risks !!

Is zone alarm any good ? Or should I remove it for windows defender .
What is IObit , my Malwarebytes said it’s a pup or a puppy?
Someone on a old video game told me to try drivers booster hit Malwarebytes removed it all.
Trying to secure power cord too oh no ahh a alien !!!!:rflmao:

slow down,

what are you looking at- is this the circuit board for the power plug? fix the jack if it is.
then your power plug will work better. or swap with the other laptop's board.

and does fan work? is there dust underneath? replace fan from other unit if this does not
work. suck the dust bunnies underneath the fan.

what is unfixable coolmat? is that running or not? and it doesn't matter if it is - its
not going to fix the cooling in the laptop.

dude, you should have done all this about 190 threads ago,

THE FAN OF the laptop works but it overheats, I fixed external laptop cool-mat once but now it wont work anymore at all.
laptop port works, but old laptop i stopped using because it broke.
better laptop power port is loose slightly so i just used tape so far.
last pic was from external laptop cool-mat!!!!

fix laptop fan. clean it out - leave no dust bunnies alive for revenge.

you didn't fix laptop cooler if it now doesn't work.

power plug - go inside laptop and tighten pins - do not over-tighten and if you plan
to do so, then buy a new power jack and learn to solder.

with two identical laptops, you can make one good one that works perfectly.

fix both laptop fans, toss coolermat or whatever it's called. it being fixed and
not working is sign from above.

The only time I have ever seen a laptop overheat it was because it had too much dirt piled up inside against the heatsink fins. Disassemble and clean is the only fix.

This video shows how bad it can get with air restricting dirt:
I don’t know how to take my gateway apart to do this step. Nice video though!
Could you suck dirt. Out of fan from outside of pc or no? With sweepinger hose?

The working laptop just neeeds Fan cleaned the original one needs new power port plug in and tons of stuff I cannot afford .first laptop showed in threads is held together with tape it’s like destroyed from falling . Screws stripped and won’t charge.
I had pic of the working laptop it’s in much better condition.
Maybe tape or something rubber band to stop power port from being damaged like the other one?

Avoid generic brand laptops like gateway like the plague Is the moral of the story.
Now I gotta fix this junk and clean out its fan somehow!!
Gateway or intel pulled the drivers updated for it it’s gone .

there hasn't been a single thing wrong with the laptop - all the damage was not from
Gateway.

you do not have to buy anything. you already have TWO gateways - there's enough
parts to build one good working Gateway.

FAN: remove screws to back or to the fan assembly. blow out dust bunnies. you cannot
suck it out, or blow it out from the outside.

take a normal house vacuum cleaner. go outside. try to vacuum bathroom rug from outside.

power plug: open laptop up and re-adjust the power plug. if you can't then use the one
from the other laptop.

we are going to hit 200 soon
