Help Please: I have access to four woofers LE15A (two need voice coils); two Midrange drivers 375 and two horned tweeters 075; Crossovers: LX5 & N7000

To rescue them from that moldy basement and pass them along to someone who does want them. Or have some killer JBLs built. But I'm not getting upside down with parts before I even consider what to do with them. Why do you ask?

What do these parts trade/sell for? Any watchouts? Is $1,000 too much for the described parts?

Hello: I know nothing about JBL other than that they sound nice. Came across the stuff in title. Owner blew up the left channel of his Marantz Model 250 amp driving these speakers. Seller wants $1,000 for all of it, including the ugly home make speaker cabs. I imagine that amp blowing up maybe...

SR 838 Turntable Owners - Do you want a 'Subweight'?

It only fits in the opening in back of arm for heavier carts. I am recreating the weight that came with these TTs when new, from very detailed specs given to me by someone with one of the originals. Vintagear did us all a solid by getting me those specs on another post here on AK. Cheers, Steve

SR 838 Turntable Owners - Do you want a 'Subweight'?

Hello folks. Someone recently DM'd me on this topic. I will endeavor to find another tool & die guy to make the final adjustments to the prototypes I have. I was so so close but my guy flaked out and ghosted me, which caused me to put the project down. I just need to adjust (deepen) the depth of...

Regarding the Solo with the CD player and radio - (Link to Arcam site info, which doesn't address my questions: https://www.arcam.co.uk/product,solomini.htm ) When did they stop making them? What was their rep for quality & any known issues? Is there a competitor product from then or now? My...

SR 838 Turntable Owners - Do you want a 'Subweight'?

I now have a functional solution to the O ring, but it is not optimized. For the subweight made to exact Vintagear specs, I installed five of one type of O ring, the P/n N0.50X004.3, sourced from the O Ring Store. When five are on the weight, I get a nice snug fit. I am now awaiting an O ring...

    Sansui SR 828 'Sub-weight' Specs?

I have my second round of O rings on the way. The first several I ordered were much too large. I'll advise here Thursday or Friday. Again, if anyone wants one of these weights, let me know here once I have all the metal and O ring specs set. As I mentioned earlier, the first three metal bit...

    Sansui SR 828 'Sub-weight' Specs?

@Vintagear: Another question, please, Sir: How do you describe the O ring material? Hard plastic? Soft rubber? I am about the order some O rings and want to narrow down the list of candidates. Thank you!

@Vintagear Excellent! That would likely double the 'market' for these and having some made. I just dropped an email to your first 'O'- ring resource.

    Sansui SR 828 'Sub-weight' Specs?

Putting this in here as this was the original thread. If you are a Sansui SR-838 TT user, and wish to have the hard to secure, and seemingly always lost, subweight, please let me know. The subweight is used when you have a heavier cart (12 grams or greater, if memory serves) and need to...

SR 838 Turntable Owners - Do you want a 'Subweight'?

Here is the first 'one'. Fellow actually made four. One at spec shown above, and three additional, each 5 thousandths larger than next at male bit that inserts into tone arm. So 0.005, 0.010 and 0.015 over. The first three fit into the back of the tone arm fine. The largest does not. I will...

    Scored a Sansui SR-838....

Try the entry level Soundsmith Otello ES if you are budget-limited. If you are feeling frisky, get the Soundsmith Zephyr Mk III. Both are wonderful. These are what I use on my Sansui 838s. Study the Soundsmith website. Owner Peter Ledermann is a national treasure, and his business value...

SR 838 Turntable Owners - Do you want a 'Subweight'?

Doug: My fellow made one. I am going to get it from him this week and check the fit and usability. I'll also have to source an 'O' ring to make sure it stays attached to the arm. I'll report back here after I get it and get those things done. S

    Sansui SR 828 'Sub-weight' Specs?

Hello Again Vintagear! I am getting closer on getting the weight fabricated. Can you advise if the weight will hold a magnet or not? Sansui SR-838 Sub Weight - ?

I now have a fellow who has offered to build this hard to find piece. While it came as an accessory when the 838 was new, most all seem to be lost - of course. If you want to use a cart with total weight above 10 grams, this part is the solution to balance the tone arm. I am asking to reply here...
