    what load are putting on it? it is possible you are shorting to ground on the outputs via speaker wire there are several other clear possible problems but I'd take a look there first

    You should check the "fuse" resistors and vf1212 double diodes. Caps aren't really the main failure with these wonderful units - the FRs are!

    Overall it sounds like the protection isn't working at all. I would not recommend powering it at all until you have a better idea of what is going on.

    The clip locks one way. It will go on the other way but it does not clip. Thus polarity is not enforced and that causes a protect

    based on that - i'm not sure how both channels worked. It's not possible with a fuse missing in that location and a stock circuit

    post pictures of the bottom side. Did they jumper it all onto one transformer? jumper the fuse?

    with that fuse missing one of the transformer primaries should be open and a channel should not function. I would proceed with extreme caution with this amp if it exhibited that behavior pull the power/protection board out and post some pictures of it
