I have been on audiokarma on and off for 10 years. I am an audiophile specialist who got involved with audio gear since the age of 6 where I took a part my 8 track player just to see how it worked. Over the years I have gotten into restoring Tube audio as well as Peaker re-coning and...
I just sold my Mcintosh MC 7200 and put my fathers BA 6000 back in production. Believe it or not I don't hear much difference between the MC 7200 or the Fisher BA 6000. As a matter of fact the bas is cleaner on the BA 6000. my question is, are there RECAP kits for the Fisher BA 6000 as I am...
Thanks for the reply. I heard that the Kenwood has better sound and sensitivity. In your opinion should I just replace it with a McIntosh or Marantz or do the mods you advised
I have had this tuner in my family since the early 80's. its rock solid however its going to need a recap and some updates. i heard the kenwood tuners were one of the best in this Circa. are there better tuners out there i can upgrade to or should i spend the money and keep this unit. Rumor has...
This is a Bell/TRW RP 320 stereo tape deck, which includes an R-320 stereo preamplifier. The series tape transports are two-speed (7-1/2 ips, 3-3/4 ips) with pushbutton controls. This is a compact 3 motor, 3 head
machine that My father bought brand new in 1960 however it has not been played...
thanks for your imput. the crossover is a simple design so it appears i would have to upgrade the crossovers anyway. 2 4ohm tweeters in series would bring them back to 8ohm. the horn I'm actually going to leave along because its half way decent. i could probably modify the base and put a fatal...
sorry about the confusion I meant they are still in production as in being used in my system. I would like to mod them but the tweeters are 16Ohm I guess they are paralleled to bring the dual tweeters to 8 ohms. if I upgrade the tweeters i need 2 4ohn and series them. if that's the case then I...
I'm trying to do that to my current pair of Criterion 2003A. replacing the tweeter and Midrange. the woofer isn't all that bad. the crossovers may need to me modded too
I have a pair of the Criterion 2003A speakers still in production. my father bought them in 1979 and they still sound awesome. I am looking to replace the tweeters and midrange horn. sort of modding them because they fit my sound system perfectly
I have a pair of Criterion 2003A speakers that my father bought from Lafayette back in 1979. These speakers are still in production today however I want to replace the tweeters and Midrange horn. Does anyone have a clip of the specs from the 1979 Lafayette Catalog or any recommendations for...
Use V.E.N. Sound System and Designs. They do speakers, tube Amplifiers/Preamplifiers/ and turntables.
this is their site www.venaudiopro.com. they also do repairs for Infinity Records in Massapequa Park
Just FYI Utah Speakers were made for Allied now known as Radio Shack, Lafayette, and Olsen. Utah was started by Frank Pyle Sr. He changed the name to Pyle in 1981
These speakers need to be in a special enclosure. They do sound sweet if they are configured properly. You can also upgrade the tweeter , parts express sells some nice tweeters
