I would tend to agree, I think something is wrong with your dragon. My experience is that my 670ZX sounds better than most cd recorders I personally have heard.

I'm a 3 header guy myself, sell them all and buy a JVC TD-V661/TD-V662. cheap nice 3 head, metal compatable, calibration settings, dolby B and C, and HX pro (if your into that).

If you do decide to keep it,and it needs serviced, Perry is the guy to send it to. Only reason I havent sent ya My 670ZX yet, Perry, Is because the deck just keeps working perfectly....I never get that azimuth clicking unless I use low end tapes, so I just dont use them.

How slow is it playing? Hysteresis motors shouldnt run slow, is it a different voltage frequency?

their excellent. A little wierd since they dont have off the tape monitor but a great deck none the less. I have the 670 which is almost identical except it has off the tape monitor, and I dont think I would ever sell it. "ZX" in a Nakamichi, means that the recording head is fixed on a moving...

that LED only illuminates when the auto stop arm is raised. so its basically an idiot light telling you theres tape or not tape. does anyone know where I can find a replacement for an LED like this?

Got mine today!! wasnt in mint condition, had to fix the FFW button, and the "Ready" LED was dead. I could not find a matching led because the led is wierd and tapers down to go through the front plate. so I threw a square one in there just for now.
