Can't I test it by ear just by monitoring signal through the unit and toggling the switch? I don't have to actually record a tape to test it do I? That would mean you can only record in Dolby but not playback... so That wouldn't make sense, and is why I haven't tried recording to tape to test...

Thanks for the info. I cleaned the controls and recapped this unit. Still got a channel out. So when I hit the Dolby switch to "IN" should I hear the signal change?

How much of an effect should the noise reduction have on the signal passing through? I know there are different DBX encodes so I wasn't sure. On my Teac X-2000r, DBX is night and day, on this AN-60, I hear no change when dolby is in circuit. Also... Can anyone hook me up with a Service manual?

That is extremely helpful, and I'll do a little more digging but definitely keep this info on hand to try!! I'm not entirely sure how to deduce voltage ratios by the impedance of the windings... but this might be a good time to learn haha.

It is! I love it. I went from an Audible Illusions L-2 to this, and that says a lot. The phono stage is great! Quiet, easy, fully adjustable... no complaints. We sell Rogue, so if you want to take the plunge let me know! ;)

I included a picture above of where i jumped the connection that wasn’t there. The base of the second transistor connects to that 50pf cap which then goes to the collector of the same transistor. But the connection from the previous collector to the base (the blue line I drew) wasn’t.

Thank you! Unfortunately, the transistors aren’t turning on. I get 35v on the collectors of all four transistors, so there is no current going through the dropping resistors before it hits the collectors from the boards power rail.

Yes, and I tried reversing them (even though I already knew the answer) but figured it couldn’t hurt. Still nothing. All my replacements transistors are ordered ECB so there’s no second guessing.
