It's also a 220v unit with a European plug and no mention of needing to convert the power. Although I suppose that could be their rationale for the low price.......
After inspecting the urls embedded in several players, I found a url for WXRT Chicago that seems to work directly in VLC and Volumio Web Radio at 128kbps:
https://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/api/livestream-redirect/WXRTFMAAC.aac
I have been adding my most listened-to stations to my Volumio Web Radios favorites list, got all my favorite Chicago stations in there except WXRT. Seems everything dealing with that station routes through a conglomerate. Does anybody know a direct URL for 'XRT?
My wife's uncle passed away and we found a RtR tape among his possessions. It's a mystery because no one in her family remembered him having a tape deck. None of us have ever had one either. The tape has a note that says "Christmas Music 12/85 Both Sides". He used to be a semi-professional organ...
There is an ad on the local CL for an unknown record changer, and one picture shows some loose parts. Looks to maybe be a cartridge and something else. Can anyone id these? Thanks!
Yesterday morning I came in to possession of the Elac 620 I mentioned earlier. It has a Shure M75 sans stylus and needs some plinth work, but sure spins fast on 78! ;)
Cleaning out my mother-in-law's house after her passing, found boxes in her basement full of 78s from the late 40s/early 50s none of us knew she had. Mostly show tunes and big band stuff. My wife remembers a console player until the mid 60s at their house when she was very young, so I am...
The software is $30, so not too much to lose there. Going from a 256 ssd to a 256 ssd. The new HP which will be doing all the work has 16gb main memory and an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, which appears to benchmark well for a lower priced pc. Hopefully all the parts will be in place to try it this...
My brother-in-law says one of the techie guys he works with can get me a case with a USB cable to put the hard drive in and attach to my new laptop, so I think that part is sorted.
I am sure I could just copy over my data relatively easily, but I would like to try to bring over the other stuff...
It's not encrypted or anything, so reading the hard drive should not be an issue. Reading some of the Microsoft help docs, it looks like they recommend Laplink PCMover to migrate from an old to a new computer, but I think they require connecting 2 working machines, which obviously is not my...
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I don't know where else to put this. I have (had?) an ancient Dell laptop that I dropped yesterday morning while walking in from my car. The machine appears to boot, but the screen flickers badly then the machine shuts down. I'm a technologically ignorant...
I see a listing for an old PE console pull turntable for sale which has this picture of the cartridge. I believe its from the mid 60s. Can anyone tell me what this is? I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before.......
This last weekend I took a turntable in trade for some records I was selling, an ancient Pioneer PL-10 that looks like it has been sitting on a shelf for a looooonnnnnggg time. I need another tt like I need a hole in the head, but it had an interesting cartridge. The cart is a Shure M73PE...
Not really an audio question, but I don't know where else to put this. Found this neat MCM table top record rack in my mother-in-law's crawl space last week. Probably been there 40 years. I want to use it, but not if it will leave rust residue on my albums. it's really not worth spending a lot...
