I'm curious just how important that center grounding sleeve is. I understand why it is there, but I don't see it on many modern tube components. Anyone care to comment?

As you must know, a fantastic preamp. You might think all those selector switches, input level pots, and tone circuits would muck up the sound, but no. Not at all. It truly is audio bliss with both my 20A's and 30A's. Nice to have the 20A Fisher badges too. Mine were missing those.

These tables exhibit absolutely no sense of speed instability by the way, they sound great. Neither one is using the original AR arm.

Fwiw, these are single motor XAs. And, when I say they vibrate when off, I mean they do so audibly and it stops when turned on.

Just noticed you referred to a run cap. I swear I dont remember seeing anything but a single cap on either of my Xas.

So marc, can I assume you are refering to the switch capacitor as wayner describes, or something else? Thank you for that info. Im assuming that is a film cap, correct?

Yes wayner, it is the cap on the switch. As far as i know, thats the only cap on the XA. Unless, of course you might have one of the XAs with the universal power supply inside. Enjoy your listening and beer, thanks so much for commenting
