Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

I've just ordered the boards and component order tomorrow, likely.

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

Board is 290mm W by 270mm D. It will fit both Pesante and some version of the Galaxy (e.g. GX388). DIYAudio store has a subset of sizes so you might need to check Modushop site. DIYAudio does have galaxy that will work. Pesante and Galaxy come in 1U, 2U, 3U and 4U heights.

Yes. each input has six loading options for impedance. Also 2 for capacitance (used only for MM carts). What you mount is your choice. The DIP switches are for selecting desired impedance for each input. I'm thinking I'll make one of the options a 47K. Yes, I know you can get there with the...

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

Especially complicated for me since I have no idea what I'm doing. Wyn has been very patient.

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

Board should fit Galaxy and Pessante series from Modushop. Input, outputs and power are on left side of the board. Control connections will be on the left. Volume, Warp filter, Balance, and RIAA outputs are in various places on the board (because I was lazy and didn't want morer tracks...

    BIC 1000: What capacitor works?

Looks like a film cap. Nothing spcial. If you post the schematic it can be confirmed

Still continuing to progress the board.

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

Here's a print of the PCB as it currently exists. I've told Wyn that I've reached my level of incompetence and it might be time to turn the work over to a professional. I'll continue to make changes to the best of my ability but I can't make any promises that I'll get the board to the level of...

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

Here's a screen print of the first draft of the PCB. It's 400mm by 209mm. There are about 35 SMD used.

Here is a BoM. Would be helpful if someone would create a Mouser BoM with part numbers. The schematic is too large to attach.

No rush on my end. Yes, very complex.

I sent the 1st version to Wyn. It still needs work. I'll post next version here.

Sounds like a nice improvement to me.

Technics SP-10 MkII: a couple problems, bad PSU? Any help appreciated!

Here's a couple things that might help: the noise you're experiencing sounds to me like it's mechanical, and not cause by the electronics. Could be the brake strip or possibly something under the platter. Before doing anything else, my approach would be to focus on this mechanical noise, but...

I now have v7.0.1 loaded and ready to proceed.

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

I currently am using KiCad 5.6 because 7 was problematic when it debuted. I haven't looked into it for while but I would be confident that it's very usable at this point. And, yes, I recognize that Sean has WAY more expertise than I do. My offer is simply to help get something into an alpha...

Ultra high spec. opamp MC/MM phono, warp "elliptic" filter, line, headphone amps.

Wyn, I know you've been using KiCad but am not sure where you stand with regards to creating the PCB (it's probably in this thread but I've missed it). If you still need the PCB, and if you're amenable to sharing the KiCad files, I will try my hand at laying out the PCB. I'm competent at...

I'm excited to build this new phono preamp and add it to the 2 others designed by Wyn!

Hi Wyn, Sorry for the delay. Yes, I'd be glad to make that layout. The complilcation is that we're in the midst of completing a remodeling project and moving house, so timing may be a bit dicey. I'd think I can complete in a week. If that works for you, let me know. PM might be the...

Yes, this will be a great project. Wyn, if you permit, I would like to try my hand at laying out the PCB. Would not be as good as official version but would be fun. I won't do it if you'd prefer that I don't. Of course I'd share gerbers.

What to do with an old worn DL-103D???

Of course density is linked to weight. Density is weight (at specified gravity) per unit of volume. Hence the weight of a pound of feathers is the same as the weight of a pound of lead - but density is dramatically different. The ultimate of any structure (including cantilevers) will depend...

What to do with an old worn DL-103D???

My experience with these carts has been similar to Andy's I think any of the qualified re-tippers will give you the pros and cons of the choices. There are several reputable retippers and much is written in this forum about them.
