The SL-110/Sl-1100 and SP owners club.

My SN# is 600813. Under the plate it is cut for an SME tonearm. The Grace 940 I've rewired. I also replaced the power supply caps a couple years ago just for my piece of mind. I've put so many hours on it, I couldn't even make a guess.

I have a SP-10 that I bought used in 1979. The only failure was the power switch, a fairly easy fix. Still with the Grace unipivot tonearm it came with. DSC04375 by sfrykh posted Apr 6, 2016 at 9:10 PM DSC04383 by sfrykh posted Apr 6, 2016 at 9:10 PM Not in perfect cosmetic condition.

    Technics SP-10 worth going after.

I have an original SP10 and it has been a war horse for 40 years. I've had to replace the start/stop switch, a standard spdt micro switch. I also recapped the power supply just as a precaution because of age, probably would have lasted another 40 years. That's the total maintenance it has had...

anyone else running vintage Empire carts?

The meter I'm using is a VICI DM4070, I think it was an amazon purchase, I'm allergic to epray. Nothing special for a meter it does resistance, capacitance and inductance. In the $40 price range.

anyone else running vintage Empire carts?

If you go back to page 58 in this thread you'll see I had a 2004 that measured 511/512 of resistance and 320/350 in inductance. A couple months later I picked up another 2004 and to my surprise it measured 1054/1025 in resistance and 652/660 in inductance. So empire marketing strikes again...

    Power Transformer Recommend Purchase ?

Edcor also has a 250-0-250 with same specs but without the 12.6v tap. Just the main and 6.3v, www.edcorusa.com/xpwr050. You could use a resistor between it and the capacitor to lower the voltage to your 235v.

Who Out There Never Gave Up On Vinyl & Turntables?

58 here, never gave it up. Still have albums and turntable I had in college. It got packed away during a move in the 90's, took 10 years to get around to setting it back up. Since then learned more about setup and I'm enjoying it just as much as ever.

    Technics SP-10---Show 'em off!

It's just the first version of the SP-10. I bought it used in College in 1979 from a guy getting out of vinyl and into CD's. I think I paid $150 at the time and it came with a Grace 940 arm and Ortofon cart. That was 1 weeks wages at the time. Has been in use the whole time.

The American Epic Sessions, direct to disc.

Both shows, American Epic Sessions and American Epic(3 Episodes) are well worth the time watching. After watching I was moved to buy both the American Epic The Sessions and The Best of the Blues albums. I would recommend both the shows and the albums to anyone interested in the history of...

    new 6bq5 SE amp Build

There was a later schematic posted by Dave. It included the biasing pot switch and a couple other changes. http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?attachments/scan0002-jpg.614891/ . Its post #297 on page 15. A great amp, my first scratch build and it has made a good impression on friends of...
