i replaced the two small counter belts, which was very easy other than cleaning the goo from the old belts. Took some effort to get the residual goo off the pulley wheels but the deck works great now! I also have a new drive belt but it appears a lot of disassemblely is required to get to it...

I lucked upon a pair of Electro-Voice 12" Wolverine LS-12 Loud Speakers in wood cabinets. I took a chance on buying a pair of vintage speakers with no idea what was inside. My chance paid off, and I am pretty impressed with them. Currently running them with a Harmon Kardon tube receiver.
