How long have you had your oldest (in your possession) component/speaker?

Good one. We still own equipment from the late 60's early 70's. Also own many pieces of Heathkit gear some of it still in use knock on wood. We got so much enjoyment assembling all the gear and music (records cassettes even 8 tracks) it is next to impossible to get rid of it.

Rack Systems ...30 years ago today.

Back in the 70's and 80's when very busy playing gigs on a regular basis eventually converted to a rack system. Listen to La Scalas or Klipschorn in North New Jersey area?

In all the years we have owned our LaScalla's have found they do a superb job with most music only lacking slightly in the sub base area. Which by the way you may not notice since we all hear differently. The mid base and high frequency's are outstanding the more you play with the speakers the...

    La Scala Professional - question

Inside most homes 200wpc would pull nails or shatter glass. We have 125wpc available for ours and with a volume scale 1 thru 20, at a 3 to 4 setting it is beginning to be painful. I guess it could mean we are getting older.

How many watts do you feed your Klipsches?

We have many pieces of gear left over from the years we did gigs locally even the road case with amps and electronic crossover. So our sub bass horns are fed with 250wpc,the modified Pro LaScalla cabs are fed with 125wpc through the electronic crossover giving us unlimited head room. It is...

Can of Worms! KLIPSCH "pecking order" ?

Obviously the answers are from opinionated users. I agree with all because of the listeners ears, budget, where the speakers have to sit. My preference puts the LaScalla at the top go figure.

How do you calculate wattage each speaker receives from an amplifier?

Years ago when doing gigs and sometimes in large halls an audio friend suggested using an ocilloscope to get a feel for output and watch for clipping. That was eye opening, once you see a clipped signal then listen for the sound you will be truly educated.
