Yo, Scroungers man. Happy birthday, last I saw you were projected to go 13-0 in the fantasy league. Sounds like it might be your year.

Are you still alive? We’re getting the band back together so message me. Actually no we aren’t, it seems Tom is jealous about John Cale avatars and we already own the best two.

Wrongo! Fripp had sworn off all music and was in some type of cultist group when Eno called him from Berlin to tell him Bowie needed him to finish Heroes. Bob caught the next flight to Berlin. Weirdly Fripp and Blondie forged a friendship when he was slumming in NY and he hung out at the local...

    Today's Experimental/Avant-garde/Noise Playlist

When you get old it’s easy to just say the music I grew up with was the best. Not so with Ambient/Drone/Noise. Nurse with Wound wasn’t even a band when I was in college. Tim Heckers ambient noise didn’t exist. As an old man I need inspiration.

That is a beautiful shot of one of the seminal albums in Ambient. I must find that arrangement. Usually I like the classical movement based on earlier ambient recordings more than the original.

John Cale- NY in the 60s. Absolutely awesome noise and drone. The firefighters living below him telling him to turn that shit off is always fun on album 3.

Blonde w/Fripp Hamersmith Odeon live 12 Jan 1980 Heroes! Always love a Heroes cover, I’ve got about 15 but somehow even though Blondie is too out of it to make it work it still happens. Not Apocalyptica levels but still fun. How the hell did Blondie and Fripp hang out then?

    Happy Birthday 313guy!

Hey! It took me three times to reset the password I’d forgotten long ago. Yeah, happy birthday 303guy but does anyone know which one this is. I’m thinking he’s 60 and doesn’t want to tell me. Btw, he’s the best friend I’ve ever met here and I’m just having fun.

Holy mother of god this thread has gone to sh!t. This isn't the "I happened to listen to an Eno album" thread, it's an exploration of ambient/drone/noise that started with the Theatre of the Eternal Music and has morphed into craploads of music that defy explanations and simply exist to evoke...

I played all the Christmas tunes mom used to play when we decorated the tree. I even played the German Christmas record her aunt sent her when she was homesick at 15 for her first Christmas in America. I miss mom. The bestest I miss mom music ever: :
