She's not in protection anymore.I haven't connected any speakers, I don't want to smoke them not knowing why the left channel isn't working.

thank you, this is the rabbit hole from hell , it seems.

I did think that too and wasn't sure anymore, so I got a photo from the internets and both LC01 and LC02 are installed correctly. Tested a whole bunch or transistors and took everyone out and they all check out ok. I don't get any Bias voltage in the left channel. The right channel is OK. I...

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

I was thinking of that , too. How did it work?

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

i see... Mark is there a replacement for this drive pulley tire?

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

it could have been worn to the extend of it not making proper contact, but how would that be the only part worn so badly? I mean you saw what he clutch tire looked like, did it look worn to you?

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

Then it works as it is supposed to. Do you have one of those tensioner springs?

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

I noticed that sensor, I figured it had a hall sensor or maybe a LED inside. How is that switch supposed to work? does it trigger by motion and closes? or does it go on/off when spinning? mine seems to close the circuit when spinning.

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

When I lifted the brake and compared the reels, then i could feel a slight more distance on the take up reel compared to the supply reel. But that could be the resistance of the counter. It's minuscule, really.

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

ok so i get in both directions 11.57V at the ff rev motor at first. then it shuts off. when I manually manipulate the arm it stays at ~11.50V then drops to ~11.3xV, when the tape speed drops significantly. The next step would probably be to get some more Deoxit and clean the switches up. maybe...

you don't by any chance remember a link to to one of the repairs do you, Sir?

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

this one has torque. What I did notice though is that if I apply more tension on the arm, the forward backward will work, sort of. Either the adjusting spring doesn't have enough tension or the tire of the forward motor is worn, (don't think so)

How do I check that the reel hub is not dragging?

    Pioneer CT-F9191 problem

Hello I have a Pioneer CT-F9191 with the tape not forwarding/ reversing. when on play it will turn a few seconds and then shut off. (the right reel doesn't spin) I have replaced all belts and sent the clutch to be rebuild by Mark. He said the clutch was fin no cracks but he said he upgraded it...

TR20 and TR12 line up with the charred spots. What is weird though is that they are two different type transistors that pumped the same way. Plus isn't the entire heatsink grounded? TR20 TR12

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

so i tried your suggestion and when I plugged the board in (not even the power) , something discharged over the chassis and charred the entry point. Guess that wasn't a good idea!
  19. STR-6046A

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

so from what you're saying ,TR23 is in the left channel circuit correct?
  20. STR-6046A

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

I couldn't find any prominent marking for it in the schematics to crosscheck
  21. STR-6046A

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

that would basically be like unplugging connector 21, wouldn't it? Thinking about it it wouldn't be the same as it energizes only to that capacitor that is out of the loop. Still , I need to figure out which circuit is left and which one is right. connector 21 feeds to both left and right channel
  22. STR-6046A

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

the next one over , which is TR20 shows 0.522 and 0.526 sane transistor left channel TR19 has 0.504 and 0.512
  23. STR-6046A

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

so i bit the bullet and took the TR23 out completely one side shows 0.506 , the other 0.513 left channel TR24 shows 0.507 and 0.513
  24. STR-6046A

    SANSUI AU 7900 WOES...

I started to test the output transistors again, starting with TR24, If I did it right then it is working, correct?

if i plug in the bad channel the protection relay won't engage so it will not be poured as it should be
