the sound is warmer due to the tubes. and signal loss when the buffer is turned off.

I'm using mine between my preamp and my Monoblocks, It IS an improvement. And you can tune the buffer off and the music still plays without damaging any of your equipment, pardon the bust. I moved my setup to my basement. im getting renovations done to my home.

For those of you that are using a tube phono preamp that does not have a MC STAGE, a step up transformer is the way to go.

Denon are the inventors of the moving coil and they have been around for a very long time. There are plenty of upgrades for it., like changing the plastic body to a wooden one which sounds far better than other wooden carts. I I use the Denon Dl 103r. I love it and I am getting a step up MC...

What i would do is trace the aluminum tonearm board on a regular piece of wood then cut it out. measure the thickness and cut it out again. A friend of mine from work traced my template on to the mahogany i am currently using. I personally dont know the measurements
