Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

Yes that was definitely the cause, when removing the plate that was stuck from the dried up old grease it acted like a glue that probably made the plate a little misshapen. I tried my best to shape the rim and got it to go from 33.3-33.7 rpm and now it isn't dipping below 33.3 but instead it's...

Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

So after cleaning the turntable levers and re-greasing everything I found that it has a prominent hiccup when rotating. Attached is a graph showing the repetative dips in speed. any tips for solving this?

Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

@swechsler that video helped a ton. all of the levers are not sticking anymore and the old grease was really caked on there. I removed it all and put some lube in it. That video was a lifesaver. Thanks!

Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

Which part should be cleaned from here for maintenance or recommendations? I am assuming just the bearings since after a few plays the speed is accurate. Any other tips?

I got quoted over 130 for an acrylic cover. Is this too much and better to get a generic one?

Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

Initially the function switcher was not working. This was a simple fix as a part inside was disconnected. All but one light in the tuner display is burnt out. These are soldered in place so removing them would be something I have never done before. Probably will be easy once I try and will...

Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

Found a youtube video showing the functions in detail and en ebay listing where the seller refurbished and sold it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115326182428?nma=true&si=c5LZ3rlu21nzsAczcMSJ2Wj2D4I%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Hitachi SD-3120; Any information out there?

Hello everyone, I have recently come across a Hitachi SD-3210 turntable/receiver combination and can't find any information out there except a basic service manual that lists parts and electrical diagrams. I have taken it apart and connected some loose things. A few light bulbs are burnt out...

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

Yes the receiver works now. I appreciate all the help. The original issue when I got the receiver was that it made garbage sounds and stopped playing altogether after a couple minutes. I measured 0V at J808 and rBuckner helped me then. I replaced what could have been bad i.e. H807, H805, H806...

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

The KSC945 I purchased and installed did not have the “C” suffix and doesn’t have a C middle pin. Could I just switch the Pins on my board?

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

    I replaced H806 with a KSC945YTA Link here: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/512-KSC945YTA?r=512-KSC945YTA The voltages across R806 is: 15 -14.8 = 0.2 V R807 is 14.6 / 0 = 14.6 V

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

When checking over my previous recap work I saw that C810 was a 10V 1000 uF cap and I installed a 25V 1000uF cap. Could this be the culprit?

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

Craig I mistakenly copied the readings from my paper. You are correct. My actual readings are H806: B 14.5 C 15.3 E 14.5 H805 B 15.3 C 47.5 E 14.8 I tested C807 and C809 and I couldn’t get any of them to show any signs of life when disconnected from the circuit. 0 resistance when connected...

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

    So with all the wires at J808 disconnected I measured the voltage on each H805 and H806. They are H805 B: 15.3 C: 47.5 E: 14.8 H806 B: 15.3 C: 47.5 E: 14.8 And I adjusted the trimming resistor all directions and the “B” of H806 remained at 14.5VDC...

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

Also, I checked the orientation of the output transistors and noticed in the manual they are opposite my configuration. However this receiver at one point worked with this orientation, though not well. I interchanged them to match the way the manual has them, and kept blowing fuses this way.

    Marantz 2220B bad J812 and J808 Voltage

pulling wires on pin J812 did not alter the voltages on either J812 or j808. With all the wires pulled from J808 the voltage at J812 and J808 become 14VDC and 14VDC. So when I pulled the wire that connects J808 to J302 the voltage at J808 became 10v. And also when I pulled an additional wire...

Howdy, Still working on my receiver after replacing some components in the PSB already. What's replaced is shown in yellow and what's not been replaced is shown in red. I am getting a reading of ~5V @ J808 and ~5V @ J812. Per the manual J812 should be getting 35V and J808 should be getting...

Also I tested H807 in the 2M ohm range and got a positive value in one direction, and the same negative value in the other direction. I think this component is fine.
