    Thanks for the heads up. Call McIntosh T/S and they said it need a firmware up to the latest firmware and that would fix the problem., but that the dealer would have to do the update. So I called the dealer and they are shipping me a replacement amp and paying for shipping. Thanks for you help.

    If the magnets are missing that would be a problem. However I took mine to the shop and it took them about 1.5 hours to take it apart , fix and reassemble.

    One of the sales guys at AC.... I didn't understand either and when I said it has different taps and was told it does best at 8 and not a happy camper with anything else. Every review I have read, everybody like this amp. I am going to send Mcintosh a email and ask them also.

    Thanks for all your input, but have decided not to install in rack....If I do end up installing in the rack I have some CWD wood shelving I can place on the glass and then I have a 100 lbs. plus capacity. I tried it but did not like the limited vent space about the amp.

    I have seen a few of these amp up for sale lately...I thing they would be a great surround sound amp and maybe a good front speaker amp..but have no experience with them. I know mac make better amps but what do you of these for surround sound and center channel. Thanks for your thoughs Jerry

    Thanks I will check that c200 out. What I was going to do is have the HT as main unit and take a tape loop from and older unit (For now DSP-A1) and feed it to the new HT unit by tape loop. That way I could go either way for recording purposes. Thanks Jerry

    Problem fixed......it has magnets that holds the door closed....somehow they shifted in transport by UPS. I had them to test it out and everything is ok. However this must be Class A power as it run hot. Has 2 muffin fans in it. It is a beast.....
