Hello All, i found an EF37 in my other small amplifier and though what the heck, lets put in the missing valve holder coupled with a power valve. Valve Amplifier valve identification

Pio, i just had a realisation though regarding the AM pre.... the dials and controls must have been taken from an old radiogram but the chassis is the same as the amplifier so i think the maker has also built the AM Pre to suit. It makes sense as the wiring and setup is again too complex for a...

    Valve Amplifier valve identification

Hello from England, The valve am pre has been removed and i have taken quite a few pics for everyone to observe. At the moment the EM34 does not light and the radio has a constant hf crackle (not really loud but it is affecting the signal and speakers) There doesn't seem to be anything...

Thank you, Can I ask what the sensitivity or responsiveness of vintage radios are like. Or do most radios now not pick much signal?

    Valve Amplifier valve identification

Is the drive amp unit within the valve? What I am trying to determine is if the two missing valves have anything to do with the magic eye or receiption of the am preamp? Thanks again

    Valve Amplifier valve identification

Your right, it's been a challenge, the tuner is an issue. Do you know how the magic eye works ie...is it connected to the signal or does another valve power or contol it?

    Valve Amplifier valve identification

Hi Gadget yes the open socket is a phono input which for me is one of the best things as i can add any input source and thats cool as i can play youtube songs or playlists, cd etc and the sound is really nice (for now) con is that it is exposed and was causing a lot of hum from not being ground...

As you all are aware its been over 4 months now so when the tech guy arrived i was very excited to have it back. I made a cup of tea for my guest and myself and we set about installing the amplifier into the radiogram which in truth is extremely easy. Plugged the inputs then set about trying to...

I can imagine what stories we all have to tell or remember for that... For me the golden age of music was from 1955 to 1965. I prefer listening to unusual and early recordings plus my two little toddlers love to boogie to the beat! with 45s so its nice to keep alive someones life passion that...
