Looking for some help with my sx 1050

I'd like to thank everyone again for the help. Looks like I got the beast running again. This is the second evening of listening to records and some radio. It's quiet and sounds really good.

    I think one of these is backordered at mouser and maybe digikey too. Q13-14,21-22 2SA858 -> KSA1381ESTU x4 Q15-16 2SD1439 -> KSC3503DSTU x2 Q19-20 2SD381 -> KSC2073 x2

Looking for some help with my sx 1050

Thanks for the links to the transistors. I mentioned previously that R51 was 6k but the resistors all measured good today. With the heatsink out I got a better angle on R51 down at the bottom and it was like17.8k. Another question about the remaining (Q13-Q22) transistors. If I have to pull...

Looking for some help with my sx 1050

Finally got around to at least checking the left side output transistors. Looks like one bad 539C and one bad 287C. What's the advice here? Find two old ones, or replace all with new equivalents?

    Sansui 8080 bias question

While I'm at it...C04 (47uf 50v) on the list is obsolete and n/a at mouser. Should I go with a UPW or UTT there instead? I'm unsure of what series is ideal. Price is no issue I'm not buying bulk.

This is what I've got in my cart @ mouser for C03 https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/647-UPW1C101MED1TD

    Sansui 8080 bias question

Another question on this list is about C03 on 2546, 100uf 16v. Why this type here? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Nichicon/RR71C101MDN1?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsIwzbKW1rlgQwAj9weGF3mmAYu1Zoh%252bmk%3d

    Sansui 8080 bias question

Thanks. I must have an older PDF of that 9090 recap list from here http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/9090-recap-list.798507/#post-11065033 That list shows UPW2A4R7MDD for C11-14 on F2546, which are polarized. That's why I ended up asking here.

    Sansui 8080 bias question

I'm making a capacitor list for the power supply board F-2546 too. What should I use for the 4.7uf 80v bi-polar C11-14?

    Sansui 8080 bias question

Originals are 10 ohm 1/4 watt. I think I might re-cap the equalizer board too. I remember the phono had a thumping, helicopter like sound.

    Sansui 8080 bias question

Thanks guys. The DMM fuse was blown. When measuring across F07 it won't go above 16.5 mA, F08 is nice and stable at 30mA. Upon inspecting the fuse resistors on 2436, R39 is bad. What's a good replacement for these fuse resistors? Think I remember seeing metal film resistors work.

    Sansui 8080 bias question

When I try to measure the bias current with dmm across the fuse holder it stays in protection mode. Put the fuse back in and it comes on. Something wrong with my dmm? I have it set to read mA.

Looking for some help with my sx 1050

Without removing anything I went ahead and measured R49 through R67 and everything looked good except R51, which was 6k not 18k.

Looking for some help with my sx 1050

Thanks again for the advice y'all. I'm gonna pull those parts and test them soon. Will have to build a DBT before any power too.

Thanks avionic, I was wondering about that... just ordered a few of those fuses.

Looking for some help with my sx 1050

Thanks everyone. The thermal fuse is open and the resistor still measures 3.7 ohm. The coated wire tied around the two parts is what smoked. I've been looking for the right micro-temp and it seems hard to find a 109C 10A, most I see are 15A 250V. Since this is a thermal fuse I wasn't comfortable...

Looking for some help with my sx 1050

After replacing a bunch of capacitors I was checking DC offset on post 4 (like the 10th time) when my clip slipped and touched post 3 too. I thought it just blew the 10 amp fuse so I replaced it. Now I have a fried R1 on the surge suppressor 098 board. I found a replacement for that 3.3 ohm R1...
