Thanks but the outermost contact has been clipped off. Not really NOS after looking and reading closer. Much appreciate the help though.

Pioneer DT-500 digital timer runs really fast

Today is seemed to be jumping back and forth between the normal time and the last digit and seconds display. I'll try a little deposit over the weekend and see if that helps.

Pioneer DT-500 digital timer runs really fast

Not sure if I should start a new thread about this issue, it might just be a simple fix I'm missing, like is it plugged in? Lol Everything works great but now instead of showing hours and minutes, it shows the last digit of the minutes and the seconds. I don't see an option to set it to run...

Is it worth hanging onto? That tweeter looks kinda cool but I know looks can be deceiving lol. The horn is metal if that matters.

    Help with speaker ID

Hello everyone, I hope the COVID situation finds you all well. I disassembled a Packard Bell console that someone had put a Sansui 1010 into. I pulled the speakers since they all seemed work inspite of the cab being in rough shape. Can anyone tell me if they are worth keeping? Many thanks!

    What's your latest audio purchase?

Another piece of the Pioneer system falls into place. Just picked up a PL-41in really great shape with a Pickering V-15 Micro IV. Just tuned and set up. It is a beast! Bigger than I expected and sounds really clean. Oh happy day!

    SA-608 Repair

I have a small cheapo unit I got off one of the Asian market sites and I'm still tying to learn how to use it. Also I forgot to mention that if I turn the volume up the protection kicks in at about 7 and back off under that.

    SA-608 Repair

Ok, so I finally got back to it. I put the 798s back in. The right channel meter shows 5 bars as soon as it goes into protection. After rechecking the unit. I found additional information. The bars don't always kick up with the protection relay. It they don't light up, as soon as I change the...

    SA-608 Repair

Thanks a bunch. I think I'll pop them back in for now. I will be ordering some parts and will include some KSA992s as I hear they are good to replace in general. Once I get the dc issue found I also plan to replace other known problem part as I learn more about this unit. This will also help me...

    SA-608 Repair

1st test was using compressed air to cool them down with a volt meter attached to monitor how they responded. An old tech friend shared the idea with me. Seemed a bit odd but I'll try about anything and it seemed to work. Done with them still soldered to the board. 2nd test was with a little...

Looking for info on this reciever from 1969.

Thanks Tom3, I need to make up a small reflector for the single bulb as it had foam on 3 sides that have disintegrated allowing light to shine upward instead of across the face. I will run a voltage check once i get back to opening it up. Right now it sounds great and is pulling duty in my office.

    SA-608 Repair

Hello all fellow Pioneer fans, Here I go as a first time tech lol. I have a SA-608 that is throwing DC at the right side speaker outs. It was narrowed down to the 2SA798 on the right channel. My 1st question is should I remove the heatsinks to gain better access and if so, do I just need to...
