MaxiPreAmp ii Tester Delay To Ship

I had a power tube maxi matcher years ago was a work horse. If I didn’t have my George Kaye tube tester I’d probably pick up the maximatcher preamp tube tester.

    Mullard 12AX7 ID

Yes I will try them out when I have a piece of gear worthy of it. I went solid state years ago and only use tubes for guitar amplifiers :)

    Mullard 12AX7 ID

Yes tests new range. I have two one is labelled a 10m the other is the yellow BVA shield logo. Both appear identical physically.

the 250th tube tester thread - help me choose

This!!! My tester is for fun! My ears do the real testing :)

the 250th tube tester thread - help me choose

It sure is. It tests for noise, gain and output. Can also be connected to a scope and have a signal put through the tube. It’s pretty decent. However I still think the best tester is my ears and the circuit the tube is used in :)

the 250th tube tester thread - help me choose

Heathkit TT-1A is a decent tester and user friendly. Most of them need service and calibration but are fairly easy to work on. Maxi-Matcher makes great testers too. I use a Kaye Audio Labs tube tester. It tests small signal tubes and does a decent job for what it’s designed for.

Oops I read backwards. Yes Delta Hamburg for sure! Good quality tubes!

I thought I saw an “r” code at the bottom etched into the glass? Small case r is Canadian Philips IIRC.

    Acrosound transformer question

I picked up an acrosound 20-20 but needs a power tx. Anyone know a good source for potted or non potted transformers that will match the size? Thanks

    Trigon

I picked up a Trigon Snow White preamp and a pair of Dwarf monoblock amplifiers this week at an auction. Plugged the amps into my DHT preamplifier last night for a listen (the Snow White preamp needs a 38v power supply) and I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing sound and output from these small...

    DHT preamplifier

Here is a project DHT tube line stage preamplifier near finishing. I purchased the chassis without tubes and the circuit 3/4 build. A local tech reverse engineered and voila. Heavily tube regulated with 3A/109 tubes. One input one output nothing else. This preamp has a soft and delicate...

    Another Thorens find ☺️

Just picked up this TD125 with a SME 3009 improved fixed headshell and AKG PD25MD /35. The deck is very clean sans a few scratches on the dust over. Will give it a real setup and soon tomorrow. This is the 3rd thorens 125/126 I have found this past few months. One I let go but this one I...

    Thorens TD126 w/ Victor Tonearm

It’s a well designed arm and easy to set up imho. Cartridge needs to break in but I’m already hearing a more defined soundstage than my SME tonearm however cartridge difference may also be a contributing factor. I used a Bluesbreakers lp that has great separation and soundstage for testing...

    Thorens TD126 w/ Victor Tonearm

Thanks. I will have a read of the manual. I’m amazed at how easy this arm is to adjust and dial in. My SME arm took a fair more effort to find the sweet spot!
