    Marantz 1070m

I have got hold of a 1070m integrated amp, just wondering if anyone has come across one before? Below is the ebay pic, I'll try and take some more in a day or so. As you can see its a 19" rack mount, no feet although there are holes in the (hardboard) bottom panel. I have found details on...

    Frustrated Marantz collector wannabe!!

Well, at least you have some choice your side of the pond. In the UK there's not alot of to choose from, mostly low numbered amps and loads of 2226bl receivers. When something interesting comes along it goes for good money, a lovely 1250 amp went for close on a $1000 a few months ago. A 2600...

Tannoy Venus MKII, just lookin' for some info

The Venus was part of the Planet range from the mid eighties that also included the big selling Mercury, other models were the Saturn and Jupiter. The Venus was very well reveiwed at the time and had real wood veneer (most often walnut) and a time aligned crossover. IIRC the Mk2 had a clear...

SL-D2 makes odd sound (after a fall)

This sounds like an earth problem. Have you checked for this and is the deck earthed to the amp?

I have recently bought a SL150 and it has 2 internal fuses, not sure if your 1200 has any but it is worth checking.

    Rotel RQ970BX phono stage

I've been usig one for a few months now and it is a very good budget unit. It was a big upgrade over my Marantz PM4's built in stage. I now have a Rega Mira 3 and put the Rotel up for sale to help pay for it but I might just plug it in to see how it compares. A chap over on the Pink Fish forum...

    Rega P3 motor problem

Hi MC, It was the main platter bearing I was refering to, it realy is worth checking. There is a thread here that touches on the problem (although loctite may be a more ellegant sollution rather than superglue!). If you do a search on Pink Fish there is loads of info on keeping Regas at...

    Rega P3 motor problem

The pulleys on Rega motors do come loose quite easily but the most common cause of slow running is a dry/sticky main bearing. Easy enough to check.

    Cement Turntable Platform project

The only negative issue I can see would be the possibility of air bubbles. Are you going to use a vibrating poker to eliminate them? The Townsend Rock used a steel shell filled with plaster (I think it was plaster) and that was a great sounding deck. Good luck!

    Need your thoughts

Have you had a look inside yet? I cant tell from the picture but it seems that the terminals could well be fitted to the PCB, or possibly a sub board. Either way I would think you will need to make up some plates to fit over the exsisting openings and then hardwire to the board.
