I am having a religious experience; Masters of The Air. Episodes 1&2

Hanks was also the main character in Saving Private Ryan, Capt Miller. Think of all the films we wouldn't have if WWII hadn't happened, no WWII movies, no FIlm Noir, No Cold War films, movies would probably be pretty boring without WWII.

What was the last movie you watched?

Godzilla, King of the Monsters (1956) It’s the American version of Godzilla where they shot some scenes with Raymond Burr and cut them into the film to make it more appealing to U.S. audiences. Maybe it did in 56, but now it’s just distracting.

What was the last movie you watched?

Sudden Fear (1952) Joan Crawford, Jack Palance, Gloria Grahame. Joan is a big shot producer of hit plays, Jack is the Actor she cans because he's "not a leading man type". Will Jack just go away quietly? Gloria Grahame is around so I wouldn't bet on it. One of the very best Film Noir/Thrillers.

Sounds like a remake of The Green Slime. But that one was fun at least.

What was the last movie you watched?

The General (1926) Buster Keaton. This is my favorite silent film of all time, it's never dull for a moment, and the action with the Trains is amazing, It's also weird to think the movie was closer in time to the Civil War than we are to the movie now.

What was the last movie you watched?

Animal Crackers (1930 Marx Brothers. Another great one, plot, never mind that, it's the non-stop stream of one liners and pre-code double entendres that make this great. Signor Ravelli's first selection will be "Somewhere My Love Lies Sleeping" with a male chorus. What do you say, girls...

What was the last movie you watched?

With a title like that I'm going to guess it doesn't star Meryl Streep? Not that that's a bad thing, Shes done very little that I actually like.

What was the last movie you watched?

Horse Feathers (1932) More zany Marx Brothers shenanigans. Groucho is appointed President of a University, and it goes about as well as you would expect. It's a pre-code film so the innuendo is a bit racier than average. The Al Hirschfeld Poster is a masterpiece in itself.

They not only not hold up, but seem more plausible than ever.

What was the last movie you watched?

Duck Soup (1933) The Marx Brothers. 69 Minutes of hilarious chaos, with Harpo running around cutting everything in two with Scissors and Groucho's endless one liners. There's a plot in there somewhere, but it's not really important. This is the one with the famous mirror scene.

The Return of Doctor X (1939) In B&W, and not as good as the original Doctor X, but it still has Electric Gizmos arcing, and a plot concerning Blood and bringing the dead back to life. But he most terrifying image of all has to be seeing Bogart in this getup.

Doctor X (1932) Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray. In Color! Excellent, lighthearted Comedy/Horror from Director Michael Curtiz, featuring fog, mortuary's & mad scientists with buzzing high voltage gizmos. Classic 30's stuff. It was filmed in B&W and 2 strip Technicolor simultaneously, using two...

What was the last movie you watched?

Sherlock Jr. (1924) Buster Keaton. An incredibly good 100 year old (short at 45 mins) movie, the various physical and sight gags are just incredible. If you don't have sound, you better have imagination and Keaton had more than most.

Carbine Williams (1952) Jimmy Stewart. The true-ish story of David Marshall Williams, a man convicted of murder, who invents a Firearm while in Prison, that would eventually become the M1 Rifle. Good movie, with Stewart in the lead role.

    I finally cancelled Netflix.
