    Hey Fluance owners

As I look at the specs on various models it seems the basic specs for RT81 through RT84 are same. Is the only real difference things like mat type and cartridge? What really is the difference?

Bose loudspeakers and double blind tests

IMHO, Bose are maybe not the most accurate speaker, but are designed to be pleasant to listen to. I find listening to jazz and classical they are smooth and don't sound fatiguing. With rock, I do feel they lack punch. I agree with others above that very many speakers outperform them...

    Gun Porn

I had the carbine version, my best friend had this one. We burned through so many rounds his sear catch wore down and periodically it would "double tap " on its own.

    New Turntable Recommendations

I have never had an Ortofon Blue, but have experience with a wide variety of older model Ortofons across the spectrum, up to the the higher end units. Ortofon is generally my favorite cart brand overall. I find that the Ortofon carts I have used seem to work on tonearms they have no business...

Please share your experience with leaf / gutter guards

I have used the plastic "slide in" type (both white and black mesh) with limited success. Maple seeds do tend to get into the holes in the white ones. The black mess periodically also clogged with soggy debris. Overall the white with holes seem to work better than the black mesh ones and are...

What You Did With Old Military Uniform?

Mine no longer fit. Years ago I gave my dress greens to an ROTC grad. Since then uniforms have all changed. I have a few old BDU's in a foot locker, again, no longer fit. I have cut several apart up to make things out of the camouflage cloth. I did keep my black beret (which I only wore two days...

    Awful vinyl releases

Agree with previous posting that even some records in "the day" were bad. For example, "Never Mind the Bullocks" (Sex Pistols) and early Blue Oyster Cult records were very bad recordings were several examples that come to mind. The better the resolution of your turntable and overall system...

I need a single action revolver

I have the Heritage Rough Rider 4.5 inch barrel, six shot with optional magnum cylinder. My good friend has the Wrangler. Shot both. While it is clear the Wrangler is a bit more refined, I actually think the Heritage shoots better. My friend agrees. Heritage is probably one of the best bang...

    Pickups in the US

We can choose to disagree. I have been consistent in my view of debt in every posting. Everyone has their own life to live as they choose - it isn't about winning or losing the arguments. Debt free living on depreciating assets has worked well for us.

I need a single action revolver

I find a .22LR and a .22 WMR out of the same single action pistol with a 4-5 inch barrel only chronographs about 100-150fps faster on average. Not worth the extra noise and cost of ammo.

    Pickups in the US

It is still debt...no guarantees for the future earnings. Debt by definition is someone else owning a part of you...Our society has become a "play now, pay later" society. In the end, it leads to less savings. Instead, being debt free, I am able to retire in the very near future very...

    Pickups in the US

I don't buy new, so no such thing as zero interest loan for used...at least that I have found. Also, debt is debt, we don't know the future. If I were to lose my job, and owe on a car, even with zero interest, someone else still really owns the car and if I can't make the payment...I have also...

    Pickups in the US

With the exception of one vehicle, my wife and I paid cash for every vehicle we bought. Like Gordon said, if we can't afford to pay for an item that depreciates, we won't buy it. It is getting harder and harder to do. Likewise, our paying cash means we have trouble getting credit cards. Great...

Wax candles on your christmas tree?

My dad told us of his childhood German Lutheran Church in Kansas that had real candles on a tree on Christmas Eve. CA 1920's. Several men were stationed near by with buckets of water to douse any issues. I am sure the real candles are beautiful, I just would never risk it. The tree would...

    Are lower EV prices tempting?

Someone above posted: "The chance of an EV owner suddenly deciding they need to do a 300 mile road trip in a day, during extreme weather, is.virtually zero. The only way they could be screwed is to drive the 250-300 miles, intentionally not charge it when the battery was already warm, then park...

New budget cartridge in the house?

I realize that... I would love an expensive cartridge (and everything else). I drool over catalogues like Acousticsounds and once put together a $350,000 system from that catalogue...in my dreams!!! If it wasn't given to me, traded, bought at a thrift shop, etc. I haven't spent much on audio...

    Best Indoor Antenna Under $50?

On ebay, not uncommon to buy things shipped from china that are identical to other name brands. I suspect they went out the back door of the factory where the company contracted the factory to make the product.
