    Thoughts and opinions on A/D/S L1230 ?

I had a pair of ADS L-1230 years ago. In my opinion they sounded good but were very power hungry so I would not recommend them with a small tube amp. They sounded best with a pair of Carver A500x amps.

I can't believe the work in this Knight amp

I had one of these amps years ago and regret selling it. In my opinion it sounded better than the MC240 I also had at the time with the original Mullard tubes.

    Marantz 1030 Engraved Face?

I have a champagne face 1030 with engraved face, still has the plastic over the face but I have never actually turned it on. I'm currently working on a 1060 that seems to now be working fine except for the new power switch I had to order and getting more interested in checking the 1030 since...

    Vintage film cameras

One of my first cameras was a Pentax K-1000 in my early teens, it took decent pics. Think I paid about $100 for it back in the late 70s.

    What camera(s) do you own?

The main camera I use is the Nikon 7100. Also have a D80 and a Canon G11. Own a number of film cameras but don't use them much these days including Mamiya, Rolliflex, and Yashika medium format, Nikon F3, Canon T90, Canon Canonet. Looking to get a Fuji X100T soon

Xbart - excellent deal on Dynaco

I bought a Dynaco preamp from Xbart in BT and am very happy with it. His packing was extraordinary, sealed, then bubble, then in foam, and it arrived quickly. I would not hesitate to deal with him again.

How to spot great speakers at a glance!

When I encounter an unknown speaker I pick it up. If it's too light I put it back down and walk away. Good speakers are always heavy..

How Many Amplifiers do you have?

I will assume we are talking about strictly power amps from the thread. I would have to sit and thing to figure out the exact answer to this but I will list a few of my favorites. My favorite amp right now is a Knight 60 McIntosh 2205 Denon 2800 Adcom GFA-555 series 2 connected to my Polk...

    RIBS!!!! It's What's for Dinner

After enjoying the posts here I went out and found myself a good smoker BBQ and yesterday I tried it out. These were marinated then seasoned with a dry rub, After slowly cooking with hickory I gave them a few brushes of Stubbs sauce. Came out unbelievable..

seven bone steak, marinate and or dry rub?

I would have marinated it to help tenderize this cut but looks like you did well! I regularly use a variation of the famous Captain Discos marinade which he beat out Bobby Flay with in a throwdown. You can find it here, it makes a great base for experimentation...

    "Vintage" 7-Up at the Stores

I found lately the convenience stores around here are stocking the "vintage" sodas, which are brought over from Mexico where they still make soda the way it was originally. I also remember loving Coke when I was a kid but don't care for the current version. I but the "Mexican Coke" from the...

    RIBS!!!! It's What's for Dinner

Those looked exceptionally good. We have a few "rib joints" here in Phx but most of them are "in my opinion" not as good as I make myself, and I normally don't take the time to make anything in the class you have there. You could probably bribe me out of some tubes with those.. lol Funny thing...
