You can see the little button I added, under the volume knob snd to the right of the balance knob.

I think I found the answer! This will be installed near the balance knob, under the volume knob. It should look reasonably close to a stock button. yes, I bent the tabs out on the back of the switch and noticed the plastic broke. I couldn’t easily find the broken parts to epoxy, otherwise...

I just picked up one of these… Power is on and it won’t turn off. Time to take it diary and see what this crazy switch is all about!

Those Kenwood speakers are “special”, huh? They look like a lot of other Japanese speakers from the 1970s. I’m assuming you used to word special in a tongue in cheek sort of way?

Well, I froze the various transistors, but didn’t hear any change. I guess I’ll dig out the oscilloscope and figure out how to use it.

It wasn’t the cause. I think the A+C segment was still dirty. After a second cleaning, it hisses, too.

So odd. I was checking it out, and none of the switches or pots was changing the hiss. Then, I tried the speaker selector switch. It has C, B, A, off, A+B, A+C, and B+C. When I’d switch it to A+C, the hiss would go away. I’d move the switch a bunch, then I’d get done hiss on that position...

It does hiss on the one channel on all inputs. I have a can of air that can be turned upside down. Yes, this is after a good cleaning of all pots.

I’ve got an Akai AA-1050 that looks clean and sounds clean... except for a hiss in the right channel. What would cause that?!?

nope. Not a deox problem. Golly! The can I used didn’t go to waste, though. I’m sure it still needed a good cleaning.

Ive got an AT-125LC that plays very well, and I know there are a few other stylus options that will fit it. I’ve also got this LS500, which I know is a good option. But, it needs a stylus. Are there any optional models to look at, or is the LS500 stylus my only option for this cart?
