I own the IMF ALS40 mkIIa, amongst other IMFs. I must say I've never found the bass response to be quirky or problematic, it sounds just fine to my ears, but then again my ears have not been trained to pick-up on out-of-time or out-of-phase bass, but I definitely haven't noticed any reasonances...
