My amp is the 8601 model, I had to add the volume control- Alps 100k I'm working on another one of these. Only this time I'm replacing the el84's for 12bh7's (re-wiring the sockets). The result is a mind-blowing 1 and 1/2 watt single ended triode stereo amp with sound close to a 45 se.

These are nice sounding amps. I did mine a few years ago following the thread here- http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=293711 This amp is my daily driver at the office with a pair of 4" full range speakers.

Looking for info on these transformers. Part numbers are- 410-5247A 83-2 The end bell covers mount holes are threaded. The previous owner thought the Primary were 5k and the secondary's were 4 and 8 ohm.

Found a pair of Karlson's at the thrift store a few days ago. One was veneered while the other was not. Sounds absolutely beautiful with a RH-84 amp. Paid $20.00/ each. These speakers are huge. Will open up the backs tomorrow to see what drivers are in them, stay tuned.

My rebuilt AMP-132 mono blocks PPP 6V6 amps are pretty impressive. Ditched the 12ax7 for a Triode-Pentode 6an8 on the front end. :music: My office amp is a Magnavox 8601- SE EL84. Found another 8601 at the re-sale store for $20.00 I'm going rewire 6bq5 sockets to 12bh7 out of RCA book...
