In your opinion, what is the most underappreciated genre? I'll go first and say electronic music. There's a lot of hidden gems on there, if you look in the right places.
I was wondering if there were any good songs/albums that can be used to test equipment. I personally use everloving by moby to test stereo range, scarlet fire by Otis McDonald to test tone range, and DSOTM as an overall test. What songs do you guys use?
I went to my local record shop today, and decided to get some cassettes for my new cassette player. I like buying cassettes since they’re old, but they’re not exorbitantly expensive, unlike some other vintage mediums (looking at you vinyl). The total cost was 27 bucks, and that Oscar Peterson...

It is exceedingly rare to hear something actually new and novel, and I think the album from (mostly TikTok famous) musician Dijon is very worth your time. I don't even love all of it, but I've listened to it three times now and it's incredibly interesting and raw. The engineering/recording is...
Hi all,
Not often do you hear a spectacular “live room” album from a newer band in their prime and at the height of their success, but the new one from Big Thief is just that.
Jaw-dropping room acoustics as good as any live recording I’ve heard, incredible imaging and separation, just a joy to...
Hi y'all,
So me and my pal came up with an idea about testing our own " streaming system " and see which is better, but yeah ofc, there can only be one variable, otherwise the test wouldn't be fair, no?
we decided to only change the streamer/player in each test, well luckily, my friend who...
Hi guys,
So I've been meaning to ask if there's an optimal way to stream these streaming service, if you know what I mean..., like some players which directly support TIDAL or Qobuz or Amazon Music and stuff, but what if I stream TIDAL through Roon, would the sound quality get better? and why...

Hi, I'm looking to add more songs to my mp3 collection. I particularly enjoy the use of double bass featured in the majority of my mp3 collection, so I'd like to find more songs featuring double bass.
I tend to listen to Country, Folk, Rock n' Roll, Rockabilly...
Hey! I bought a used Music Hall Dac 25.2 a few months ago. It was functioning fine, although I always heard strange noise on the headphones right channel when I was turning it off (headphones are 250ohm). Anyway, I was never paying attention to it, since it didn't damage headphone speakers...

Hi:
I recently purchased a 3.5mm stereo jack to 1/4" stereo plug adapter online (cheap quality). Unfortunately, it arrived damaged to the point that the protective plastic had all broken off. Long story short, I was able to get my money back and was also allowed to keep the damaged item. I am...

I have 7 Harman/Kardon HKTS speakers in Silver, and I'm having a ton of trouble finding original wall mounts for them, let alone compatible ones.
For some god forsaken reason H/K decided to have the mounting screw-in to be on the bottom of the speaker instead of the back side.
(Not my...
After watching LOTR for who knows how many times, I got the idea to start this thread. List your top 3 favorite movie Soundtracks (they do not necessarily need to be in order).

I used to listen to him in the morning on Public Radio. Haas had some nice classical shows. I found a few of his old shows on the Internet Archive. He died years ago, it was nice to hear his voice again.
Looking to upgrade my current bookshelf speakers. Right now I have Reference Audio R50S. Speakers are to be used as 2 channel setup (plus subwoofer if needed) hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V870 receiver. Used only for music (primarily records) in a small office/music room. Below are my current...
