I have an old 42" LG flat screen hanging on the wall with the original speakers mounted underneath pointing backwards (?), toward the wall it is fastened to, and they work fine for youngsters with good ears, but MY apparati of diminishing returns need a little help.
I have some thriftstore...
Has anyone been watching For All Mankind? What an amazing show, about an alternative timeline, and a very different space program. I have to say, I very much enjoy it. It also has some very interesting, dramatic music underpinning it as well.
Am I the only one whose interests collided in episode 3 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when a pair of modded HPM-100s turned up in the background? What an incredible touch from the set designers!
Pioneer HPM-100s are probably the most divisive speakers ever made. Devotees love them and...
Just in a new sign for my collection Sold last night at work with other light up signs and Dbl-Bubble Pepsi clocks. Will look good with 1957 SR-406 receiver Note what it says, the key words to date are" Radio-Phonographs" Post war ads would of dropped that and most would place "Television" first.
Group house at WVU. 5 dudes. Aged 19-20. There will be the occasional house party. I'm buying (the TV, not the beer).
I'm in the market for a roughly 50 inch "smart" (do I need smart?) TV for my son's new housing situation. The TV will be shared by all in the living room. While I'm...
On a recent trip to Georgia I had the opportunity to get a bunch of free audio gear. I could talk about the free eico preamp, or a free pioneer sx-838, but those projects have been set aside for something much larger: a Sony trinitron kv-1920D. Audiokarma is not the best place to ask for help...
Howdy folks...
I've got a couple of chokes scavenged out of an old 1960 RCA TV. One of them is pretty small, and measures 899 mH @ 120Hz on my Agilent U1732C. This smaller one I've found on the Photofact for the TV -- RCA 94341-15, rated at 600 mH @ 270mA, DC resistance 46 ohms. I figure...
YouTube TV, now expanded to 29 markets, offers a good selection of "cable" stations, sports programming, a la carte add-ons and local stations. I trialed it a couple weeks ago and liked it pretty well. Even though I'm well covered antenna and streaming wise, I went ahead and let my trial lapse...
My son turned me onto these headphones - he seems to have a good nose for bargains. Obviously come from China via Amazon.. I wanted something to listen to late night action TV films that seem to have quiet speech mixed with explosions at three times the volume, without waking everybody up.
They...
Hi everyone.
I recently invested in a Sansui G5000 mated to some Boston A150's. It sounds wonderful. Unfortunately my Samsung tv only has optical audio out. Do I buy the cheapo $20 optical to RCA adapter or go for something like an Emotiva xda-2 (big bonus here is the remote control to adjust...
Hi, I wanna connect my 2 Infinity RS 4001, to my LG TV, but I don´t know what I need, and how. If you could help me, I would be very gratefull, thanks!
I built this thing around a specifc 65" HDTV rear projection TV... can't wait till I can afford it :)
I bought a temp TV... the APEX 43"... it is proving to be more permanent than I had hoped... Oh well...
This is a fraud, it didn't start out white but the Bakelite was faded and worn so I painted it in Krylon Antique White Lacquer.
I have read that this model was available in white as the 9T1-W but I've never actually seen one, well a real one I mean.
Back in the early 1960's, someone installed B&W TV sets in every classroom of my grammar school. Likely a GE VHF only model. This was around the time educational TV stations went on the air. Our local station was Channel 13 of NYC. The teachers never used the TV sets. Note that the TV is in...
Magnavox combo w/AM-FM tuner and phono from 1968. The screen is burned, someone must have left a pong-type game on the screen for a long time. CRT is somewhat weak but is OK once it warms up a while. $5.00. Also Hitachi Solid state, it allows you to pre-set 8 UHF channels on the UHF knob...
