$100 system

Recently bought a Samsung curve tv and needed a sound system. About that time a young cousin of mine sold me a Yamaha rxv 750 for $20.
After sitting idle for a couple of months I found a 5 speaker set of polks for $75 on Facebook. Add a $5 Goodwill Sony powered sub, and I ended up with a super surround setup. Oh yeah it also plays music excellent.

Awesome! I have an older KLH surround system consisting of a 6.5" sub and 2 satellite speakers (with a TINY tweeter that rotates on top). I swear this little system in a small space sounds great. It's ugly, in a very curvy, 1990's all black plastic kind of way, but dammit it it doesn't sound great through an old Superscope 10 (yes TEN) watt amp. I had an old portable CD player with a built in FM tuner hooked up to it - and had about $100 bucks in it. Sounded lovely in my old apartment.

Don't discount the cheap and cheerful system!

Craigslist is the best for this hobby there is always something I can't live without and as I am a confirmed cheapskate it works out well
