Belleville, NJ United Speaker Co.
United speaker was owned by Bill Hecht. Fisher's Speaker Division was separate from United speaker and was a wholly owned subsidiary of FISHER RADIO. These were made by FISHER, NOT United Speaker.
thank you for the pictures of the speakers. how do sound to modern day top end speakers?
I only had the opportunity to listen for about 3 mins, but during that time they sounded wonderful. Hard to believe the sound that was able to be produced back then.
Larry you know more about Fisher Radio Co, than most anyone here or anywhere else for that matter.
So you would know. But if United didn't build speakers for Fisher what was their connection?
IIRC their factories/assembly plants were, if not located in the same building, then they were at least adjacent to each other. Is that incorrect?
I don't know about location, but they were separate entities. United Speaker built the standalone XP series speakers up until about 1969 or so for FISHER.
