1991 Klipsch KG1 questions...

F4DD8BB0-B4CD-4EC0-9C56-4F043C46A7AF.jpeg 5BA14078-95FF-46FC-8001-3967BC8F285C.jpeg after opening my 1991 kg1 bookshelf speakers I found the foam rubber insulation to be totally trashed. What a decomposed mess! What should I use to replace it and how tight do I pack it in?

Should I even think about recapping? These are newer speakers than I normally work on, they are ‘only’ 27 years old. Anyone ever recap this model?
 
It looks like those have seen some extreme moisture/humidity judging from the white specks on the frames.

No, that is decomposed foam rubber particles, it all wiped off nicely, but it was a MESS.
