Got it, thanks.
Well, then you can spend 20 hours/week on Yahoo Auction Japan, as they have the habit of posting photos of the backside of the equipment they try to sell.
Fill in more specific the type number you are looking for
I spend an hour and captured the following for you ("internet" being Yahoo Auction):
If you are looking for a Q-55 brochure:
Wow! Thanks. In the earl days of this database, going back to the 2003 time frame, most of the serial numbers came from eBay. There were a couple of members that were constantly collecting them. The time you spent to collect these is very much appreciated.
Too many digits. Maybe only two 1s instead of three?
you are correct ...1103 not ...11103, July 77? Thanks
Yes, it's the 1,103rd unit built on assembly line 22 in July, 1977.
A shame that this lovely Q-3535 (stereo tube amp) does not show any serial number
For this TAC-505 zoom in with your browser, but I think it is 010120196 (not sure though)
And a couple more from Yahoo Auction
AU-555,829030201,internet (has an "A" in front of the SN)
AUX1, 239040229, cnyel1967
AUX11, 211090101, cnyel1967
Some of the early tube gear, like the Q-3535 don't have convention serial number. I think they may have been kit that needed to be assembled. For the TAC-505, I don't see a picture that contains a serial number. The only picture of the back panel is a close up of the specification plate. But the rest will be added.
cnyel1967, I have yours too.
Scroll down the page to the last photo, there the SN sticker is visible (need to zoom in with your browser)
I see it now but I can't read it any better than you can. There are no other examples in the database to reference their production line. Thanks for the effort but I'd rather not guess.
Pete here are mine
Nicely done Tom, thanks. Sadly, without a whole serial number there is no way to track them in the database. The N-As and the 7070 won't go in.
Fine, I will update when I can get the SN's
Sansui AU-707F Extra -823010195

Interesting, it was built in November of 1971. 289.95 1973 dollars is the equivalent of just over $1,600 in 2017 dollars.
Thanks Tom, no hurry, at your convenience. No need to pull them out if you have them stashed away.
