2215 all recapped...reverse cap polarity?

one entire board (forget which, on the underside) had all the caps reverse of the polarity printed on the board. Considering the unit worked (although it was far from smooth sounding), I replaced them in the same arrangement they were in.

About 4 of the original caps had bulged on the underside...and one on the power-amp board had already been replaced (effects of its predecessor still showed...burned looking board underneath). my father bought the unit new, but he cannot remember ever having it serviced...maybe it was a demo or a return?

Offset was close to zero on both channels, plugged in some crap speakers and she sings!

Somehow during the relamping procedure, i got the dial pointer off...indicator at 95.5, pulls in 96.5.

thanks again AK, this is a fun learning experience!

Incorrectly silk screened PCB's are not uncommon. As long as no caps exploded when you powered it up, you did everything right. Congrats.

If it's sounding ok just make sure you check that board for excessive heat.
Feel the top of the caps as they generally get hot before they blow if in backwards.
If all seems normal it's probably ok.
Mistakes like that are made quite a bit.
